Family Court

Child support, custody, adoptions.
Joe has been representing individuals (including parents, grandparents, foster parents, concerned family members, and children) in New York Family Court for more than fifteen years.  Joe has tried many complex Family Court cases to conclusion in Ontario and Yates Counties, and has negotiated favorable resolutions in hundreds of cases.

In 2018, Joe was awarded the Honorable Michael F. Dillon Attorney for Children Award by the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Fourth Judicial Department.  This honor arose from his work in representing children in Family Court cases.  Our work in family law focuses on custody and visitation matters, child support, and agency and private adoptions.

Joe has quietly handled Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury cases in New York for more than twenty years.  Without advertising, our practice consists entirely of referrals from other attorneys, former clients and word of mouth.  We are committed to effectively representing individuals with serious and life-changing injuries.

Criminal Cases

Joe has handled criminal cases in Ontario County for more than twenty years, and has tried numerous felony jury trials to conclusion.  While criminal cases are often very complicated and always zealously litigated, Joe prides himself on having a professional relationship with the local judges, district attorneys, and various service providers (such as FLACRA, Drug Court, and the Probation Department).  These relationships are invaluable in representing clients and resolving cases in the most advantageous way possible, whether it be by plea negotiation or trial. ​
